Pittsford, NY (June 13, 2017) - Sweetlax Lacrosse announced their annual Sweetlax Summer Invitational coming June 23-25, 2017. Top club teams from around the country attend in an event that will showcase players to college coaches from Ivy League schools and ACC teams amongst many other conferences and universities. This is the fifth year the event will be hosted in Pittsford and is the largest invitational to date. The three-day event will bring in more than 150 college coaches and 64 club teams to the area.
This year, the Sweetlax Invitational is partnering with Impact Earth to bring a sustainability initiative to our event. Impact Earth is a zero-waste solution that provides events with personalized training on sustainable practices. This year, Impact Earth will be setting up zero-waste education stations at all field locations.
“We were so excited to find the Impact Earth team and take our events to the next level,” said Jessica Pacitto, ML8 Event Coordinator for the Sweetlax Invitational. “Any steps that we can take to making our events sustainable is important to both us and the families that attend our events.”
In addition to the zero-waste solution, the Sweetlax Invitational will have the Refill Not Landfill Campaign at the Calkins Road Middle School field with their water buffalo hydration station. The campaign promotes a reduction of plastic water bottles to cut down on waste. Pacitto added, “We look forward to seeing how the initiatives go at all upcoming events and seeing where we can take this in the future!”
